Stair risers are painted black with white accent trim. Black stair rods anchor the sisal runner that leads to the second floor, where the upstairs hall walls are yet another testament to Christofi's ingenuity. For five dollars, he bought a big roll of brown kraft paper, the kind that's used for wrapping packages. Applied with wallpaper paste, the paper is finished off at the top of the walls with a narrow wallpaper border.
